Modern Home Economics & Life Skills for Kids
Real skills, real projects, and a small group of peers. Serving homeschool families in Margate, Coral Springs, Parkland, and across Broward and South Palm Beach.
Our year-round Home Economics class gives kids ages 6 to 11 a chance to learn practical, hands-on skills in a relaxed, creative studio environment. The class runs every Thursday from 10am to 12pm, September through May, with each month bringing a new theme and every single class including a hands-on project or game. Hours can be added before or after class, so the morning can start early and the fun can keep going.
What We Cover Through the Year
Sewing and Fabrics
Textile work, from first stitches to finished projects your child takes home.
Kitchen Skills and Cooking
We focus on kitchen safety, knife skills, and from-scratch, whole-food cooking.
Woodworking
Hands-on building with wood and real hand tools creating pieces kids are proud to take home.
Household Skills
Hosting, organizing, and everyday life skills that help kids take ownership of their space.
Money Skills
Budgeting, planning, and financial literacy, woven through the year and featured in its own month.
Gardening
Time with plants and soil, and projects that grow.
The year wraps up in May with our Maker month, where kids will creating handmade pieces they’re proud to gift or sell.
Schedule and Pricing
$50 per class
Supplies always included
Thursdays 10am to 12pm, September through May, at our Margate studio
Stay after Open Studio time at $14 per hour
Come early Quiet Hour from 9am for studying, breakfast, or calm crafting, $14 with a class

Yes, any week. Every class is a complete project on its own, so there’s nothing to catch up on.

Ages 6-11, with every project scaled to their individual ability, so younger and older kids can work side by side.
